I looked at some other reviews before choosing the Kebab House tonight for dinner. I am soooooo glad that I made that choice! The food is truly wonderful (we both had Indan - me lamb vindaloo/her chicken kadi). We had the Momos Chili for an appetizer, and Wow! were we surprised. The were crispy fried dumplings in the most interesting caramelized onion and spicy chili sauce that was different than anything I have ever had. I ee made sure to bring some home so that I can try to deconstruct it because I must have more! The best vindaloo ever with a perfect balance of sweet and heat and the Kadi was excellence in spicy earthiness. The naan was homemade pillows of fluffy goodness. As for the prices, better that most Indian places, and definitely worth it. An absolute "must do" if looking for an honest ethnic meal in Gainesville as they have Indian, Pakistani, and Nepalese choices with many vegetarian options.

This was my first time here, and I already know I’ll be coming back. I ordered the channa dal fry with rice and it was so rich and delicious. The woman taking my order was also really friendly and helpful with dietary questions about the menu. She offered a complimentary lentil soup while we waited for our food, but it came out very quickly anyway. And I think the prices match the portions pretty well, too.

It’s always a pleasure to eat here. The owner is incredibly friendly and generous, often offering extra rice or complimentary soup, but the real reason we keep coming back is the food. It’s consistently delicious. We’ve ordered a wide variety of dishes over the years and have never been disappointed. The butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, lamb palak, and fish masala are all packed with rich, flavorful seasoning, and I love that you can customize the spicyness level to your preference without losing any flavor. The goat kadhai is my personal favorite - tender pieces of goat cooked in a thick, deeply spiced tomato-based sauce with onions, peppers, and plenty of aromatic herbs. It’s bold, savory, and incredibly satisfying with rice or naan. Just be aware it’s served on the bone, which honestly adds even more flavor. The lamb biryani is also excellent, with fragrant basmati rice layered with tender, well-seasoned lamb and warm spices that give every bite great depth of flavor without feeling too heavy. Generous portions, warm hospitality, and consistently comforting food keep us coming back.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We are always looking for good Indian food. This restaurant did not disappoint. When entering the restaurant, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They have menus out as you order at the register. They offer soup for free and it is delicious. Our food came out hot. We were all so happy with our choices. We will definitely be back.

Mom & pops, Hole-in-the-wall gold! I ain't goin lie I passed this place of a dozen times. It looks lika hookah Lounge from the street. Blacked out window tint and crazy letter not inviting. When I walked in I was greeted and guided to where I order. Very friendly. I ordered the chicken coconut curry. Wow folks, wow! it was so good it hurt! Naan was included, plus you get complimentary soup, and that was good too. They had lemon infused water. Everything was a strong A, except the water. They gotta install a $50 water filter. It makes all the difference. Thats a minor ding. I loved this place and I cant wait to return.
